Now now, wolfish qualities aren't all bad. Uraraka-kun was also ruled by Cordis, and I daresay she in one of the least wolf-like of us.

[He smiles, humming thoughtfully and taking a look around the little cafe.]

...where would you prefer to sit?

By a window? It's too warm for outside today, I think, but I'd like to see the city regardless.

[He makes a pleased affirmative sound at that, nodding, and moves them to a booth near a window, gesturing for Momo to have a seat first.]

Do we order here, or up at the counter...? I can't say I've ever actually been in here.

[A server walks up and waves as they take a seat.]

I take your order, young man. What would you like?

[He...probably has octopus tentacles for hair, because reasons.]

[Iida manages to spin himself around so quickly he nearly gives himself whiplash, sitting abruptly and very, very stiffly in his seat. It takes him a moment to completely relax, and even then he still looks slightly uptight. ...When does he not, though.]

Apologies! I did not see or hear your approach. Um-- could you give me and my classmate a moment? I have-- not been here before to know your menu.

[And Octolad slides away, leaving them with menus.

Momo settles in, shrugging.]

Take your time. Most of what I've tried here is good, though.

[He smiles at her briefly, picking up the menu.]

Well if it's to your standards, then, I have high hopes. Do you have a favorite?

Oh yes, they have really nice black tea. I don't recall if you prefer that or coffee...

[She should know this, but forgive her.]

[He sets the menu down, folding his arms over the table.]

I don't specifically have a preference, but I do recall you sharing some lovely teas with us. Perhaps I'll try that with you, then. [Kid literally runs on orange juice, he probably doesn't drink a lot of caffeine.]

Oh. Well!

[Hypercaffeinated Iida is a frightful prospect, in fact. So...]

Let's get that then. It's a light thing, even if it is a dark tea. and we can get some cookies to go with it.

[He's dumbstruck for a moment, and just smiles. It's such a simple thing, sitting in a cafe picking a drink and a treat to enjoy with a classmate, but it's the simplicity of it that makes it so unbelievably pleasant. He... can't really remember the last time he just... chilled out and did something simple like this.]

[He reaches across the table and sets his hands over hers.]

That would be delightful.

[Momo is momentarily struck by that. Something about his demeanor is just...nice.

It's hard to say what, exactly, but she's charmed, and her somewhat bewildered expression quickly shifts into a soft smile.]

I'm glad to make you so happy, Iida-san.

[He almost recoils his hands from her, afraid he'd overstepped, but chooses to leave them a moment longer, instead.]

...apologies, it's just nice to have this simplicity.

[She puts her hand on top of his, because, honestly, the boy deserves it.]

It is, isn't it?

You've had a hard time, I know.

[He rumbles more than he actually speaks or intones any specific sound, shaking his head.]

It's better, now. I'm sure we'll all fare worse once we've graduated.

In some ways, certainly.

Though, can anything be as truly bizarre as this place?

[He stops before saying he's had worse-- She's already partially aware of Duplicity, and he isn't in any rush to discuss it further.]

It's certainly unusual, yes.

It does seem that some other classmates have departed, as well.

[Unfortunately.]

But Midnight-sensei is here now? And Endeavor-san.

[His expression pinches slightly, but he maintains a slight smile. He... has never quite known what to think of Midnight, and sharing the neural link with Todoroki has completely thrown his very vague thoughts on Endeavor into a quick wash cycle, so he's got no real idea what to think.]

There seems to be a semi-consistent rotation of ins and outs every month.

It's true. It all seems so very strange, even by our standards. Almost like there is no real rhyme or reason to it.

I'm sure there's a pattern, it just hasn't seemed like something necessary to discern just yet.

Well it's certainly something we have no control over, I don't see why it should be a point of stress.
