I don't specifically have a preference, but I do recall you sharing some lovely teas with us. Perhaps I'll try that with you, then. [Kid literally runs on orange juice, he probably doesn't drink a lot of caffeine.]

[Hypercaffeinated Iida is a frightful prospect, in fact. So...]

Let's get that then. It's a light thing, even if it is a dark tea. and we can get some cookies to go with it.

[Terrifying.]

[He's dumbstruck for a moment, and just smiles. It's such a simple thing, sitting in a cafe picking a drink and a treat to enjoy with a classmate, but it's the simplicity of it that makes it so unbelievably pleasant. He... can't really remember the last time he just... chilled out and did something simple like this.]

[He reaches across the table and sets his hands over hers.]

That would be delightful.

[Momo is momentarily struck by that. Something about his demeanor is just...nice.

It's hard to say what, exactly, but she's charmed, and her somewhat bewildered expression quickly shifts into a soft smile.]

I'm glad to make you so happy, Iida-san.

[He almost recoils his hands from her, afraid he'd overstepped, but chooses to leave them a moment longer, instead.]

...apologies, it's just nice to have this simplicity.

[She puts her hand on top of his, because, honestly, the boy deserves it.]

You've had a hard time, I know.

[He rumbles more than he actually speaks or intones any specific sound, shaking his head.]

It's better, now. I'm sure we'll all fare worse once we've graduated.

In some ways, certainly.

Though, can anything be as truly bizarre as this place?

[He stops before saying he's had worse-- She's already partially aware of Duplicity, and he isn't in any rush to discuss it further.]

It's certainly unusual, yes.

It does seem that some other classmates have departed, as well.

[Unfortunately.]

But Midnight-sensei is here now? And Endeavor-san.

[His expression pinches slightly, but he maintains a slight smile. He... has never quite known what to think of Midnight, and sharing the neural link with Todoroki has completely thrown his very vague thoughts on Endeavor into a quick wash cycle, so he's got no real idea what to think.]

There seems to be a semi-consistent rotation of ins and outs every month.

It's true. It all seems so very strange, even by our standards. Almost like there is no real rhyme or reason to it.

I'm sure there's a pattern, it just hasn't seemed like something necessary to discern just yet.

Well it's certainly something we have no control over, I don't see why it should be a point of stress.

[He's right, of course.]

Though better understanding the world might be helpful.

I plan to learn as much as I'm able whenever presented with the opportunity, and being that he's been here longer and he's... Midoriya-kun, I'm sure our resident muttering problem student has more insight.

Oh, I'm sure. He's definitely the most likely of us to have obsessively recorded everything.

...Does he still mutter to himself all the time?

[A chuckle, and he nods.]

I think I'd be concerned if he didn't.

[creatability]

Don't you want him to stop?

[enginium]

[He considers that, closing his eyes and tilting his head. He considers a quieter Midoriya, one who didn't mutter fervently when he was thinking, makes a face, and opens his eyes again.]

Absolutely not. If he didn't mutter like a madman when he was thinking, I'd never know what was going on in his head. Someone has to at least attempt to keep him from getting in trouble.

I suppose that's very true. He is prone to that...

[Goodness gracious is he prone to that...]

[He raises one hand, splaying it flat at an angle as he speaks, smiling.]

Not to say I don't worry anyway, but he is a particularly worrisome classmate. Being close friends with him is a bit harrowing, though I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well, yes. Given his propensity to need to be taken to the infirmary...

[That is worrisome.]

He's a good guy, though. Like most of our classmates.

[Iida looks very tired for a moment.]

Yes, that... That is very much something I wish he would do less of.
