I understand that feeling all too well.

[Momo, of course, is immediately sympathetic. It's really depressing just how bad things are at times for her, how much her personality changes as a result of the damn moons. She hates them, and hates what they do to her friends, even if it is pleasurable in the moment.]

Come here, relax with me. Don't just sit there like a lost puppy.

[Well, she kind of is a lost puppy, right now --

Jiro ends up letting out something of a heavy huff, though - whatever that means - but does as Momo asks, moving up closer to sit with her more.]

... You wouldn't be annoyed if I spent the day with you, right? I mean, I don't really care what you've got planned or anything, I just...
You know, if you go out or something, I wanna come too.

That's cool with you, right?

After that last cycle, I feel like it's better if I ask...

No? I don't mind that.

[She reaches out, putting a hand over Jiro's own, patting it gently.]

I'm afraid it won't be terribly exciting though. I was just going to stay in, perhaps go out to get tea. Or visit the gym. It's really the least exciting thing, but I won't turn you away, ever.

I mean, I just said I don't care what you've got planned... if I get bored, I've got most of my music ripped and put on my device.

[Device... thing. Bracelet? She's still not sure what to even call it. That thing they all got, it's all on there.
... Hopefully Momo also doesn't mind her cuddling closer, though. It's not really a conscious movement, even - just, suddenly, there she is. All cuddled close.]

I just wanna be with you, that's all.

Oh...

[Well she doesn't mind, no! Not one bit. She'll even return the cuddles a little.]

I mean, we're dating, aren't we? I'd tell you if...I minded.

Yeah, but I mean... I wanna be with you all day.
All day.

That'd get annoying after a while, right?

[Look, she just wants to manage expectations, here. If Momo's going to invite Jiro to spend the day with her, she should prepare for it to be literally the whole day, right now.
She's not completely in control of her mental faculties right now. There's also a dog in there somewhere that's very happy just to be around its favorite person.]

Well, you are not going to be going into the bathroom with me, Jiro. Instincts or not, that is right out.

So long as you aren't disruptive? I don't mind. I know I don't.

[She is serious about that.]

I have my limits, though. I'll never be more than twenty feet from you, even when I tell you I need space.

Ah, c'mon... you really think I'd do something that gross?

[You know, putting aside that it might've been a tease. It's not like Momo teases Jiro enough to make her expect it.
But at least she does give Momo a little nod in understanding.]

I get that, though, don't worry. I mean, feeling like this at all makes me a little nervous thanks to my last cycle...
But something about it feels different, too. It's kind of weird.

Either way... I'll try not to bug you or anything, promise.

What feels different? Can you describe that feeling to me?

[She really, really wants to understand her friend better. It's important to her. And if these cycles are going to continue being a part of their life, then they need to figure out how best to interact with them.]

Well, it's like...

[She trails off for a moment, as she mulls over her choice of words. It's hard to describe, really...
Even though it feels like it shouldn't be.]

... Last cycle I got upset at the idea of you talking to people, right? I had that weird territorial crap going on.
This time it's something like that, but... it's more like I just wanna follow you around?

Like I wanna keep an eye on you.

[There, she pauses for a moment - before letting out an odd little grumble, her tail pulling in and ears laying flat.]

Man - that sounds awful, too...!

It sounds like...your instinct is not to trust me?

[This is a theory Just a bit of one. She's not sure she likes the direction this is going either, but she's also trying to make sure she gets a feel for it before she jumps to any conclusion.]

No!

[Instantaneous, of course. She even pulls away as she says it, looking a little hurt.
But after a second, she ends up looking down again.]

No... It's more like I don't trust anyone but you.
I know you can handle yourself, and I know you don't really need me to.

But I can't shake the feeling like if I'm not there, something'll happen to you.

Uh. That's...

[Momo doesn't want to put Jiro down, exactly? But she's seriously considering creating a water spritzer.]

...I'll be fine? I mean, you can do what you want this time, but I'm going to have to put my foot down about this possessiveness, soon.

[Honestly, Jiro's just... gonna cover her face in her hands.
It's hard not to feel ashamed by how she's acting, especially when the word possessiveness gets tossed around like that.]

C'mon, it's not like I want to feel all this! It's so hard to control...

[And then she pulls her hands away again - just enough so her eyes can be seen over her fingers and her voice isn't totally muffled by her hands.]

... At least it's a step up from last time? I'm not trying to keep you from leaving or something grody like that.
All I really want is to just tag along today, you know?

I know you aren't trying to, or wanting to. That's...why I'm not angry, Jiro.

[She's not. She's just a little ugh, because as much as she likes her friend, girlfriend, whatever they are this cannot continue.]

Today it's fine, but it really can't go further than this, or it's going to become a problem, you know? Tagging along is great, but at some point it might get worse.

[And that's not okay.]

...You understand, right?

[Oh, no, "girlfriend" is a good word to use, here. Jiro's just dumb.
But that said, she gives Momo one, curt nod, her little wolf ears folding back and almost burying themselves in the soft fur around them.]

No, I know. But that's why I'm saying, like -
If it's better this time compared to last time, maybe it's going away on its own?
Maybe next time will be even better, too.

[She's trying to be optimistic for once in her life, okay... she knows that's probably kind of weird from her, but she's trying!!]

... I won't take any chances whether it is or not, though. Don't worry.
I'll plan out something ahead of my moon cycle to try and head the problem off before I cause any trouble.

Maybe. I'm more than willing to be patient, you know.

[She is. She really, really is.]

I just...I've found that a little aggressive encouragement goes a long way.

[Especially with dogs. And maybe with girlfriends.

Oh, she's absolutely reaching out to scritch the area near Jiro's new ears.]

Mmm. Nah, I think it'll work better if I just try to prevent the problem from the beginning.
I'm not sure how well "aggressive encouragement" works on me...

[You know, considering how bad Momo managed to spook her with the whole "punishment" talk last time.

Momo's scratching doesn't go unnoticed, though; near immediately those fuzzy little ears perk right back up with her tail starting to wap against the bed again.
But despite it, Jiro's still trying to look serious... "trying" being the keyword there.

It's probably not working out too well.]

[And if that was the point, what of it? Momo leans into it, continuing to scritch and scratch just to make that tail wag. It is too early to be serious. Why not relax and live a little.]

We'll see about all of that.

[Scritch and scratch...]

...It's not like the blessing is all that bad, seeing your tail go.

[It's really hard to keep up a serious face when you're like 25% dog and getting scratches. Like, on one hand, obviously she is enjoying it? Look at that tail. It's going even faster now.
But on the other hand, it's also slightly embarrassing... her serious look starts to quiver a bit as her face gets the usual pink tint to it, and she ends up looking down at the bed.

And leaning into it, of course.]

W-well, it's not like I can control that, either... I don't think I could get it to stop if I tried.

[Not that Momo asked that of her. In fact, Jiro's pretty sure Momo likes what her tail is doing.
But that doesn't mean she has to like it herself...!!]

I don't think you could either. And that's okay.

[Really, it's totally okay. She's amused and that's all there is to it.]

Relax. You wanted to spend the day with me, and I'm feeling a little lazy. There's nothing keeping us from just staying here an hour or so, yeah?

... Having a tail like this is embarrassing.

[Said without any prompting. But she's also going to follow it up with cuddling up close to Momo again, leaning in against her shoulder.
Jiro's trying to be as plain as she can about how she's feeling. It's not even a case of "right now, with these moonblessings", either - it's just good to be as open as possible in a relationship... right?]

It's like having another one of my Earphone Jacks coming off my spine, but I can't control what it's doing at all.

[Obviously, considering it's still wagging even though she sounds bothered and miffed by its very existence.
Despite the outward appearance of irritation, she's apparently in a pretty good mood.]

I...can't really imagine? The few times I've actually grown antlers, they haven't really been anything more than annoying when I was getting dressed. I guess...that's just good luck?

[She does kind of wish she could relate better, but the universe keeps on deciding that she'll just stay human for the most part.]

Not that there's a thing we can do about it right now.

... Yeah. I know, you're right...
But for what it's worth, I think the antlers are pretty cute.
They kinda suit you.

[Whatever THAT means.
But it's said with Jiro pulling close, wrapping her arms around Momo's stomach with the intent to just shove her worries off the table and try to enjoy the morning for now. It's too nice to pass up, after all.
She really shouldn't focus so hard on how awful her last cycle was, anyway; all that matters is making sure she doesn't do anything to get in Momo's way today.

Which... she actually does pretty good at honoring, despite everything her instincts have been trying to get her to do otherwise! Even though her presence is likely to be no less irritating because of it.

When the two of them go to make breakfast together, Jiro's right next to her side the entire time - likely coming off sweet and helpful with the way she offers to do things for Momo and takes to doing things to help on her own.
And as Momo goes to read in her chair, Jiro's right there, too - sitting on a cushion with her back against the armchair's side as she listens to her music, preferring to sit there than somewhere like, say, the sofa.
And when Momo goes out to get tea, Jiro's following right along behind her, making sure to keep a step behind so she's not too up in Momo's bubble as she goes about her business, insisting that she's fine and would rather walk like that... though she leans around her whenever she stops to look at something or talk to someone just to check it out for herself, even as they talk.

That's about where they are now, too. Walking back together with Jiro heeling right behind her.

But without any warning, Jiro reaches out to grab the hem of Momo's shirt and stops in place once she's gotten it. And while her moonblessings likely made today a lot breezier than it should've been, giving Momo a way to gauge what's up just based on what they're doing... her look is as relaxed and as Jiro as ever, but her tail is wrapped around the outside of her leg.
You know. Whatever that means.]

[Overall, the early part of the day isn't bad. It's pleasant, if a little invasive, a touch weird, but totally acceptable and within the boundaries that a girlfriend should be doing if they were particularly affectionate. It's totally okay, at first, until they head out for some of the shopping and such.

Momo would have preferred Jiro to be closer to her side, rather than behind. That's weird, and it makes her feel like she's giving the appearance of being mad, yet...there's nothing for it.

Yet, when they get in sight of the tea shop, and she spots the clerk that's been very helpful in the past...she finds herself being stopped. With a flustered look, she looks back...and...]
